A4 one, one A4 by There is no I in Art

An exhibition to launch the collaboration project “There’s no I in Art”. The 12 participating artists re-introduce themselves to one another among a diverse range of works. All exist within the debatable dimensions of an A4 piece of paper, cubed.

Opening Times:

Private View     26th     6.30-9.30pm
27th    12pm-6pm
28th    12pm-5pm

The “There’s no I in Art” project brings together 12 artists in the spirit of yielding new possibilities. It celebrates the potential of working in collaboration, and sets up a platform for the participating artists to engage in shared interests and pursue unexpected discourses.

The opportunity to regularly work and exhibit in The Pigeon Wing has led to a sub-project: 12 x Twelve. For one week per month, over the course of a year, The Pigeon Wing space will be allocated to one of the 12 participating artists. Each artist then has the opportunity to invite another artist (or more) to join them in a one-week residency. This responsive structure allows the artists the freedom to collaborate and develop work without imposing a set of rules regarding the nature or out come of each project.
The “There’s no I in Art” blog will form a central role within the project as the backbone of shared research – offering wider connections that hopefully will fuel many a collaboration. Follow it here at: http://noiinart.tumblr.com
