An interactive installation directed by John Greene.
Desire is a controversial term and the cataloguing of desire a controversial collection.
Mid twentieth century psychoanalysis leads us to believe that desire is the definition of the self. So how ready are people to confront their own desires? And how readily can people respond to what is it that you desire? Just what does desire mean today anyway?
An interactive flow chart has been drawn up in The Pigeon Wing gallery to help you contemplate and inform your ideas on what desire can be. The chart is a structure of responses on the term desire from the members of the there’s no i in art project and other guests*. The chart leads participants along ‘desire lines’ mapped along the gallery floor, each arriving at one of the four primary sub-categories of desire deduced by Greene in his research.
Come to The Pigeon Wing on the night of the 7th October to inform your ideas on desire and see how you yourself might actually construe your own sense of desire.
